Flat Tire
A flat tire should be handled carefully, especially on bikes with belt drive, hub gears, mudguards, or rear wheel accessories.
Quick answer
Section titled “Quick answer”Do not ride on a flat tire. Stop in a safe place, inspect the tire and rim, and contact Booda service or a qualified workshop if rear wheel removal, belt handling, or brake setup is unclear.
Before removing a wheel
Section titled “Before removing a wheel”Confirm which bike model and hub system the rider has. Rear wheel removal steps can differ between Shimano, Rohloff, and other setups.
Check:
- whether the tire is fully flat or only soft
- whether the tire has visible cuts, glass, thorns, or sidewall damage
- whether the rim looks damaged
- whether the belt, brake, or mudguard limits wheel removal
If the bike has a Rohloff Speedhub
Section titled “If the bike has a Rohloff Speedhub”Use the Pulse rear wheel removal video on this page only when it matches the bike in front of the rider. If the setup differs, contact Booda service before removing the wheel.
After repair
Section titled “After repair”Before riding:
- Confirm the tire is seated evenly on the rim.
- Inflate within the tire’s printed pressure range.
- Check that the wheel is fully seated and secure.
- Check that the belt is correctly seated.
- Test the brake before riding.
When to contact Booda service
Section titled “When to contact Booda service”Contact Booda service if the tire or rim is damaged, the wheel cannot be reinstalled securely, the belt is twisted or damaged, the brake rubs after installation, or the rider is unsure whether the bike is safe.
