Bike Trailers

While axle-mounted trailers are technically compatible with internal gear hub bikes, and manufacturers do not explicitly forbid towing trailers with Rohloff and Shimano Alfine hubs, we generally do not recommend using them with our bicycles.

Over time, the added weight and torque on the axle can put excessive strain on the internal gear hub, potentially leading to premature wear or failure. Such use may void the warranty. The only exception is bikes equipped with 3x3 hubs, where this setup can be used without issue.

Instead, we recommend using trailers that attach to the seat post, as they are much more forgiving on the drivetrain.
