Carbon Seatpost Assembly & Installation
Our bicycles can be customized with an optional carbon seatpost. To ensure safe and optimal performance when installing a carbon seatpost into a steel frame, follow these key guidelines.
Quick answer
Section titled “Quick answer”Always use the included carbon assembly paste, never use regular grease, and respect the recommended 5–6 Nm torque limit to avoid seatpost slippage or frame damage.
Assembly paste
Section titled “Assembly paste”We include a sachet of carbon assembly paste with your bicycle, which you need to apply to the seatpost yourself before inserting it into the frame. This specialized friction paste increases surface friction, preventing the post from slipping or twisting without requiring excess clamping force.
No grease
Section titled “No grease”Never use standard bicycle grease on a carbon seatpost. Regular lubricants reduce friction and will cause the seatpost to slide down during rides.
Torque limit
Section titled “Torque limit”Always use a torque wrench and do not exceed the recommended clamping limit (5–6 Nm max). Over-tightening can crush or crack the carbon structure.
